A Standard Method of Profiling the Accessibility Needs of Computer Users with Vision and Hearing Impairments

چکیده
This paper presents the concept of a Common Accessibility Profile (CAP). The CAP provides a basis for identifying and dealing with accessibility issues in a standardised manner across multiple platforms. CAPs can be specified by manufacturers for existing systems and/or system components and can be custom developed for specific users and environments. The interaction of CAPs of users, systems, and environments can be evaluated to determine the potential for individual systems (and their components including assistive technologies that are added to systems) to meet the unique needs of an individual user or of groups of users with different needs.
